California Raisin Cookies (Makes 40 cookies)

You will need

  • 200g butter or margarine, softened
  • 200g caster sugar
  • 250g porridge oats
  • 80g plain flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp ground cloves
  • 100g cinnamon
  • 150g California Raisins
  • 3 tbsp milk

Method

  • Set the oven to 180°C/350°F/Gas 4. Line a baking sheet with non-stick paper.
  • In large mixing bowl, blend together butter and sugar; beat well until smooth and soft.
  • Sift together flour, baking powder, cloves and cinnamon. Add to the bowl with the oats and raisins. Mix well. Add the milk and stir to mix to a soft dough.
  • Divide the dough into 4 portions. Shape one portion into 10 x 15g or 2.5cm balls. Press each ball flat with the hands.
  • Place apart on the baking sheet. Bake for 12 to 15 minutes, or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining mixture. Cool then remove to wire rack until cold.
